Are you looking for the total BC package? Well, here it is! Brains – check! Talent – check! Energy – check! Attentiveness – check! And dashing good looks – indeed!
Yep, Katch is quite the catch. He loves two things: to be with his person – no matter what you are doing – and to work. This 2 1/2 year old purebred was rescued from a kill shelter in central Wyoming, and we would love to know his story. Because clearly, someone spent a lot of time training this handsome devil! He sits, lays down, heels, etc. - we have yet to discover all he knows. He has an awesome recall and will turn on a dime when called so is wonderful off-leash as well as on. His run is more of a lope – speed is not his thing; watching you or whatever he is herding – that is priority. His surrender form said he had been trained to work livestock, and although we have yet to see him in action, he sure is a herdy boy.
Katch loves adventure, going anywhere. He is a lover of all people too, and is a real cuddle bug. He is great with other dogs as well. Cats, well, probably not so good…no dog is perfect! ? He will play with toys and fetch, too, although his most outstanding tendency is his enormous herding instinct. We don’t think agility or flyball is his thing, but he has the sort of temperament to love to learn tricks, and is oozing with coordination. He has one of the best “back-ups” around – backing up almost the whole length of a hall while watching you, and will even back up stairs – which would surely translate into an outstanding freestyle dancing dog. He has a moderately high energy level, and given his intelligence and training, an active home is a must for him.
Katch is a very intelligent dog (obviously) – and will puzzle out things on his own, too. True to this breed, if not given enough exercise and mental stimulation, he will find his own amusement – and you will not be amused by it! Katch is a lot of dog and will keep any owner on their toes, as his mind is constantly on the prowl for opportunity. In addition to physical activity, this boy will need a home that can challenge his mind as well. He loves to learn and lives to please. Give him a job. Make him a partner. He is going to be an unbelievable one.
Katch is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and is being fostered near Casper, WY.
